Guitarist Lowie escapes death.


Antwerp. Last week the one and only Lowie got into a car crash.

For an unknown reason, another vehicle cut him off, causing him to crash into this vehicle at high speed and T-bone it. This severe collision triggered the airbag which exploded into Lowie’s face. The explosion was so fierce it blew Lowie out of his seat, through the back of his car onto the pavement, grinding his ass like cottage cheese.
The car was totaled. The seat he’d been sitting in gone. No more seat.

All Lowie remembers is waking up on the road, spitting up blood and gravel, unable to breathe, his thumb “going off to the side”, pain in his neck, blood everywhere.

For days, Lowie lay in bed. Awaiting facial plastic surgery, he underwent “normal” surgery on a shattered left knee, broken ribs and twisted spine.
And eventually the adjustments of the face could be done as well.

You may not see all of the injuries he has suffered. The only thing he can show now is his dislocated right thumb. He keeps a picture of the car wreck to remind him of this horrible moment.

Lowie explains : “people going through traumatic events very seldom come out the same. This event just catapults me to a higher level, it doesn’t defeat me !”
